Caesar The Red Cross Dog
♥️♡Caesar The Red Cross Dog♡♥️
Caesar was born as a normal dog, but he too felt a long way from home and in other words he felt homesick. Caesar was placed in the field dressing station. Before he came to war, he was happy in his home with his family until he was taken away to war. Caesar had experienced what the battleground would be like during a real battle, without the people, he looked at a landmark where previous battles had already been.
Caesar had to have had white bandages painted with a red cross on either side so he could be identified as a red cross dog. Caesar could help in many ways by grabbing a piece of clothing or
Caesar knew that if he barked, it would send a signal to the enemies that someone is probably there. Many of the men that survived, would have died if Caesar wasn't there. Caesar spent most of his ‘off nights’ with the nurses and the wounded.
Caesar provided comfort to the wounded when they couldn't be able to live. Caesar loved spending time with the kids in the french village. Caesar was smaller than the other red cross dogs which meant if it got wet and muddy, he was not able to help. Caesar had to have socks put on his legs so when the snow came, he was able to stay warm when found wounded. Caesar made stronger connections with some more than others.
Caesar and his soldier worked day and night to look for the wounded after and during battles. One night while Caesar was working, the moonlight was bright which meant snipers could see him easier. After that night Caesar was not found.. Caesar was then called dead, as he was shot in the chest. Caesar was killed next to the man he was trying to save, they were buried together. Pictures of Caesar were hung on walls.
♱..Caesar was remembered and missed..♱
