Stop Bullying✨

 Stop Bullying

Hey Bloggers!

During literacy time we have started writing speeches! I decided to write my speech about 'Stop Bullying'

-Introduction-

Imagine being the victim of a bully..  You would feel so left out from other people and you'd feel different, people don't  treat everyone the same as they would other people. It wouldn't be fair! Nobody deserves to be treated differently from anyone else! We are all human and all deserve to be treated like it.

Paragraph 1

Dropping to the floor as you get shoved over.. Everyone around you is laughing as you are sitting there on the floor.. Imagine being in a situation like that! Being the victim of a bully! Being bullied can drop students' self esteem and make them think low of themselves.. Students that have been bullied have dropped by over 25% and have made students give up on what they are doing in their life, they have been skipping classes and schools and some teens kill themselves because of bullying.

I haven't finished yet and their is more to come!
Have you ever written a speech before? What was it about?

Cat Living Nightmare..

In the inky blackness of the shadows, she blended in perfectly. Her saucer-like eyes and sleek whiskers were all that could be seen.

She was deliberately hiding, her colour and keen sight were her greatest allies. What she had glimpsed at the other side of the candlelit room was troubling, and arching her back, she prepared to move in an instant inch.

Her  white eyes with a big black pupil stared across the room. She was ready to pounce, the human she had seen beforehand, had yelled and stomped on the floor. She crept forward and heard a growl.. Another cat had spotted her in the house.

It growled and hissed ready to pounce at the little black kitten. Her back had risen and she was prepared to run, knowing she wouldn't be able to fight this cat away. The other cat was a snowy white with little black patches mixed around her small body.

The black cat knew that if she ran, she would just get chased and it would be worse.. She would probably get caught and put back outside in the wild rain and stormy weather! She decided to make a run for it!

She ran past the other cat and sprinted down the stairs. She saw a little cupboard that was barely open, she took a sharp turn and ran to the closet. Luckily she could go through the little gap that was there. She heard the other cat run past meowing and hissing not too long after she had jumped inside the closet.

The black cat creeped out of the closet about 5 minutes later and snuck back upstairs. Where she hid underneath a cabinet/ table thing and slept there hoping that everything would be better!

The next morning she woke up in her bed! “Yes! I'm back!” She said as she walked over to her desk. She grabbed out her diary and started writing about everything that happened. She ended with “I am glad I am back to being a human..”

The Wild Stallion

 The Wild Stallion

I walked along the beach looking for my lost sister. She had run off and away from the house looking for something to do. I stand looking around then all of a sudden I turn around to see a black stallion running towards me. He didn't seem to like that I was standing there. He got closer, and closer and closer until he reared right in front of me. I fell over looking at his chest. I saw a white mark that looked a little bit like a moon trying to not make any sudden moves. I stood up and tried to calm the horse down. I shushed the horse until it was just standing there. I put my hands up and tried to touch it, maybe then it would think that I wont hurt him and all I want to do is help. I find a rope left on a rock, I slowly walk over to it and pick it up, putting it on the horse like a lead rope. I pat the horse and lead it to an abandoned barn like garage thing. I find a hook, I tie the rope to and and whisper to the horse “I will be right back okay boy?” I went home and ordered some horse feed and sand for the horse to be on. Once it was here I ran straight back and decided to name the horse “Hmm What should I name you..? Raven! Yes! Raven! That's your name ok?” I pat him on his neck. A few weeks later I thought that I had gained his trust enough so I went and ordered a saddle pad, saddle, bridle, proper lead rope and some brushes. When the packages come to the door my mom comes home and picks up the package reading the front and seeing what's inside of it and when she opens the door “Honey!?” She yells to me “Mom!? Your home early.!” I say nervously “Ya and I found this at the door something about horse supplies? Do you have a horse here sweety?” She looks at me with that mom stare “Well not here exactly but-” Before I could finish she cuts me off “SO there is a horse!? Where did you get it from!?” She starts yelling “ well he was a wild stallion that I found and I want to ride him mom” I say normally “SO I am gonna go feed him now! Bye mom!” With frustration I grabbed the package from her wrath and ran out the door, pushing past her. I walked over to where Raven was meant to be but something was wrong.. I couldn't see Raven anywhere!! I turned around and yelled “RAVEN!! RAVEN..!!” I started going through the forest that was nearby, thinking he would be somewhere in there. I heard something but ignored it, hearing it again I noticed the sound.. It sounds like..? Horse hooves? Horse hooves!?! I ran to where I heard the hooves and saw 3 men trying to wrangle a horse into a horse float. When the horse reared I noticed something.. There was a white mark on it's stomach! Just like? Ravens!! They were trying to take him from me! I knew I wouldn't be able to fight them off on my own.. I thought that I was going to lose raven forever.. I turned around in shame just to see a beautiful black mare with a long mane. She reared with an extremely loud neigh then bent down and put her hoof up.. I then noticed! She wanted me to mount her! Without a saddle? A bridle? I didn't know what I was doing! I started walking towards the mare and hopped onto her back. She then took off in a gallop! I had never felt so free in my life! She ran towards the 3 men still struggling to get raven into the horse float and she scared them all off! I jumped off her and then ran to raven! “I was so worried that I was gonna lose you forever!!” I said as I hugged him tight! I also went and hugged the mare and said thanks for helping get raven back!I then took in the lost mare and we all lived as a horsey family! Raven and the Mare had a foal of their own, called Bolt!

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

In Literacy we had to write our own stories about anything we want! I decided to write it about a wild Stallion that was adopted by a 12 year old girl and they found a mare and they all lived as one big horsey family! Do you like horses? Whats your favourite breed? (If you know it)

Horrifying Haiku!

 Haiku

The Lightning Flashes..

Hiding under the covers

As the thunder roars

For literacy we were learning about syllables. We had to write a Haiku! If you dont know what a haiku is, it is a Chinese/ Japanese poem. There are a certain amount of syllables, 5-7-5 in the first line, there has to be 5 syllables, second line there has to be 7, and as you probably thought. There has to be 5 syllables in the last line of the haiku. Have you ever written a haiku before? Was it hard to find sentences with the right amount of syllables? What was your Haiku?

Caesar The Red Cross Dog

 ♥️♡Caesar The Red Cross Dog♡♥️

Caesar was born as a normal dog, but he too felt a long way from home and in other words he felt homesick. Caesar was placed in the field dressing station. Before he came to war, he was happy in his home with his family until he was taken away to war. Caesar had experienced what the battleground would be like during a real battle, without the people, he looked at a landmark where previous battles had already been.

Caesar had to have had white bandages painted with a red cross on either side so he could be identified as a red cross dog. Caesar could help in many ways by grabbing a piece of clothing or

equipment from the man and bring it back to be identified by. Many people missed their pets from home, so they loved to have Caesar around to keep them company.

Caesar knew that if he barked, it would send a signal to the enemies that someone is probably there. Many of the men that survived, would have died if Caesar wasn't there. Caesar spent most of his ‘off nights’ with the nurses and the wounded.

Caesar provided comfort to the wounded when they couldn't be able to live. Caesar loved spending time with the kids in the french village. Caesar was smaller than the other red cross dogs which meant if it got wet and muddy, he was not able to help. Caesar had to have socks put on his legs so when the snow came, he was able to stay warm when found wounded. Caesar made stronger connections with some more than others.

Caesar and his soldier worked day and night to look for the wounded after and during battles. One night while Caesar was working, the moonlight was bright which meant snipers could see him easier. After that night Caesar was not found.. Caesar was then called dead, as he was shot in the chest. Caesar was killed next to the man he was trying to save, they were buried together. Pictures of Caesar were hung on walls.

 ..Caesar was remembered and missed..

Mahmoud entered a scary zone..

For literacy we have been reading Refugee by Alan Gratz.   We looked at the main character, and picked 3 words to describe them.  I picked Mahmoud.

For our create task, we had to use Storyboard that, and pick one of our describing words to storyboard.  We needed to think about what happened just before that scene, and just after and how we could show emotion in our characters face.

I decided to pick scared.   I showed this through when Mahmoud was walking through the alleyway and saw 2 men fighting, him and his brother hid behind a car scared. His heart was racing but he stayed brave and the men stopped fighting.

Anzac Cove landing by the ANZACS

In literacy at the moment we are learning about WW1 and in particular, the role the ANZACS played in it.

We know that the ANZACS landed at ANZAC cove on April 25th, 1915.  They arrived by boat, and were greeted by a beach that was in chaos, steep, rugged cliffs and the Turks firing at them from the top of the cliffs.

Many men lost their lives that day, many never made it to the beach.  The ones that did were about to start a long journey filled with tears, despair and sadness. I'm not finished this yet and I did it with Neiva.

This animation is to show the landing at ANZAC Cove.

Do you know much about the ANZACS or their landing?

Maori and British. What happened?

for inquiry we had to make a Voki about a side we would pick from Maori or British, I picked the Maori side and we had to make them talk as if they were in the moment right then and right there. We also had to write something where we stated the years and wrote about what happened in that year. I found this task fun because I have lots of Maori ancestors and I picked the Maori side, we also had to find about what happened during the time of the war when war was going on. Do you have Maori ancestors? Which side would you pick, British or Maori?

What would you do in a situation like this?

We read a little comic about a girl who had a lazy eye and her friend was taken away by these other two girls that didn't wanna hang out with the lazy eye girl. We had to draw the next part of the comic and i drew the friend going back and telling her to "Come on!" so she could join in. I think this was really fun because I like to draw and i got to put part of what i think would happen next. What would you do if your friend was being left out? What would you do if you were left out as well??

The Awesome Trip To Wainui Camp!

On the second day of school, Toroa went to Wainui Camp for 3 nights and 4 days. Today we had to make a presentation of our favourite thing we did at camp. My favourite thing was Kayaking. I liked kayaking because we learnt about an old building full of weapons and around the corner of a cliff was caves and an ambushed island, therefore it was definitely my favourite part! I put in my second favourite thing as well which was coaststeering.
Have you gone on camp? Was it fun? Well I say it was amazing! Tell me about your camp trip :)
