My Speech On Plastic Pollution

 

In these past couple weeks we have been writing speeches, my speech was about pollution and I had to get up in front of my class of about 15-24 and say my speech out loud. I made some changes soon enough but I didn't get through to the finals which is OK because I didn't want to get through anyway. Have you done a speech before?? Was it scary?

Weslandia!

 

For Inquiry we are learning about our relationships with the land. We read a small book called 'Weslandia' and then we had to fill out some slides about the book. In the book he had a plant called Swiss and we have to find the use of Swiss. Have you ever read Weslandia?

NZSL Week

In  literacy this week it is NZSL week (new Zealand sign language week) and we had to make videos about what we have learnt about sign language! I have learnt The Abc's My name, How to introduce myself and the numbers from 1-10. Have you been learning sign language? Can you do any of these?

Introduction

Anne-Marie is a famous singer with an Instagram account that is blowing up! On Instagram she has 6.1 MILLION followers! Anne sang her first song at home at the age of 2, she loved singing ever since. Then she began a career and has 5 albums with some cool songs!  



Career

Anne-Marie started a career in music and showbiz by starring in two west end productions when she was just a young child. And when she was 12 she starred in Whistle Down the Wind With a young Lady called Jessie J. Anne likes to listen to music and hang with friends too!



Early Life

Anne-Marie was born in East Tilbury, United Kingdom on 7th of April 1991. When she came in with a stunning performance at the age of 12 when she performed in the West End production of ‘Whistle Down The Wind’  



Talents

During some of Anne-Marie’s performances she would dance and she was pretty good at dancing she made dance videos of herself. She would write songs about her life and then sing them for the world! In 2019 by herself in the category best pop she won the global award.



Hobbies

Anne-Marie really has a lot of time to hang out but she has a lot of friends like Marshmallow, Ed Sheeran, Katy Perry, Taylor Swift and many more and she likes to hang out with all of them when she has time.

World war 2

World war 2 began on the 1st of september 1939 and ended on the 2nd of september 1945 many people died but many lived happy.

My great grandfather survived both world war 1 and world war 2 and died before I turned 2😢

The spitfire was flown in both wars too! My great grandfather flew it. Huge tanks were also used as a good vehicle/ weapon

African Wild Dogs How do they live?

Identification- African wild dogs have markings on their bodys, no two African Wild Dogs have the same markings.

Food- African Wild Dogs eat medium sized meals, they particularly eat any mammal they can catch.

Behaviour- These dogs are very social, and packs have been known to share food and to assist weak or ill members.

The hunt- They will need backup if they are trying to get young from adults or if it's a big group, they start my surrounding they first go for the young or the weak because they are an easy target the adults will then try to get the young back and will get chased off by the enemies and most likely attacked and killed then forward they get the kill.

Facts- Wild dogs are the most endangered mammal,  hunting will need about 20 dogs, wild dogs get judged by their looks to get into packs.

What not to do when in there!

Stand still and don't move. They will then see you as a target, lay down and maybe cover yourself in dirt to get rid of your scent. Then slowly crawl to where you came from if it's a high gate that you fell from people will be guiding you (hopefully) then when you get out make sure to go home and have a shower and you should never lean to far or do a dare that is “Enter their terrain”

What am I???

‘Crunch’ I trip over a stick, I pick it up and bring it with me. I can feel the wind blowing against my fur. I look around at everything in sight. “The trees are so tall compared to me!” I say to myself a mouse runs up to me and says “Come with me the humans would like to see you
“ “I am confused?” I said in my mind but I followed him anyway and about an hour later we came to a village somebody picked me up and said “Awww you're so cute!” later that night I thought to myself “Should I leave? I don't really like it here. I wanted to see MY human” so I left. Then came a river “I am so thirsty!!” I said so I took a drink and then went off about 30 minutes later I came to the end of the forest “Oh… I guess this is the end..?” Then came Lexi “There you are my puppy!!”

The horse eating a banana with a baseball cap

There once was a horse and her name was Oreo, she was named that because she was black and white. She isn't kept in a stall or anything. She was actually a free horse that roamed around the place most of the time and since she came around often they named her Oreo. She walked over to the humans house and put her head through the window. Next to her there was a bowl of bananas she sniffed--- then took one “Nom Nom Nom” She thought as she swallowed the banana then the humans saw and threw a baseball cap and Oreo she ran off and never came back, But… She never forgot her name either “Oreo”

R.I.P Teeth

During Lock down due to the corona virus we had to go onto our site and pick an activity to do we have to do at least 1 blog post a day here is mine. This was a pretty easy slide. I got this video from "LITERACY SHED". Do you have a grandfather with false teeth? Does he ever just take them out?

The weird and funny "HIGH DIVING GIRAFFES"

All of a sudden doors open in front of me. Giraffes keep coming out beside me. We walk for a bit then I decide to look at that weird thing on the wall. I sniff and flap my ears while I stick my tongue out. I walk up these circle stairs until suddenly we come to a stop. I see another giraffe hanging upside down from this weird machine. “What?!” I say to myself in my head as I watch a giraffe run up to the one hanging and then he flips into the cold water. It's my turn now I am the last one to go. I flip and then I dive. “It wasn't that bad!!” I say to myself. Then we get a drink of water from the same pool we dived in “Slurp Slurp”. Then we heard a whistle and had to run back to our mini homes “I wanna do that again” I said.

While we were in lock down there was a korimako site that we had to get some work off to do in this break. I chose to watch a video of giraffes diving off a diving board then I did it like I was the giraffe/ I am in his eyes. I think this was an easy task. Have you ever watched high diving giraffes? Did you like it?

This is a weird animated film about giraffes diving from a diving board. I watched a video before I started to create my slide which made it easier to write about. I also took a photo of one of them doing a weird pose. Have you ever seen a animal diving off a diving board? Would you dive with them?

The Old Railroad Comes Alive

While we were in lock down because of "Corona virus" we had to do some school work at home I did this writing with a story starter from one of my teachers. I think the story stater made it easier to write. I took a picture of a really badly drawn train. Have you ever written with a story starter? Did it make your writing easier?

Maori Warriors From A Very Adventurous book

In literacy we had to read a book on epic called Maori Warriors. Then we had to make a slide with some questions from the teacher FYI Mr Sutherland. I really enjoyed the part where it explained about the chief in the book! I got all my information from the book. Have you read Maori Warriors? Did you enjoy it?

This is a work in progress. After lunch sometimes we do something called Inquiry. Our Inquiry is about culture and about our ancestors. My colourful and detailed L for Lotus!!!

For art we could choose a style of funky portraits, zen tangle letters or koru's I chose zen tangle letters this is the finished piece of artwork! I did this on a piece of paper that was started with a plain letter L. I got my ideas on the letter L from other peoples art that they had already finished. While I was doing this I thought it was really fun and that I would love to do it again! Have you ever done zen tangle letters? Did you enjoy doing it?

The amazing words of the unknown

In literacy we had to read a book called Peru on epic. Then we had to get a sheet from the teacher and find 4 words in the book that we didn't know the meaning of, once we had our words we had to find the meaning of those words and put it into our own words, draw a picture of the meaning, find words that had a similar meaning and we had to put the word into a sentence to make sure we actually know what it means. Have you ever read Peru? Did you already know what any of these words meant?

This is just to say I have packed up my stuff.

 In literacy we had tocreate a poem that was started by William Carlos Williams. I wrote my poem about 2 year old me packing my stuff and throwing it in the bin. Have you ever gotten new clothes and hated them at first sight?
